About PPG Bionorte
The Bionorte Network's Postgraduate Program in Biodiversity and Biotechnology (PPG-Bionorte), approved by the National Council of Education (MEC Ordinance No. 1,331, of November 8, 2012), published in the Official Gazette on November 9, 2012, section 1, page 10), is a network initiative formed by higher education and research institutions in the Legal Amazon. The program's main objective is to train highly qualified doctoral students to work in various areas related to biodiversity and biotechnology.
Its purpose is to contribute to scientific and technological advancement through the development of bioprocesses and bioproducts, as well as to the conservation of the Amazon biome. It seeks to combine scientific knowledge with the sustainable use of natural resources, promoting a development model that respects and preserves the region's biodiversity amid the demands of industrial growth.
