About PPGPJDH
The Postgraduate Program in Judicial Practice and Human Rights (PPGPJDH) operates as an associative initiative between the Federal University of Tocantins (UFT) and the Tocantins School of Magistrates (Esmat).
The doctoral and master’s courses offered by the Program are intended for court staff and judges of the Tocantins Court of Justice, as well as faculty members and professionals working within the justice system in the fields of Judicial Practice and Human Rights. The goal is to further qualify professionals who work in judicial practice and carry out their activities in the state of Tocantins.
The proposal to implement the Master’s in Judicial Practice and Human Rights, aimed at the professional development of judges, judiciary staff, and other legal professionals in the state of Tocantins, was submitted in July 2011 to the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes) of the Ministry of Education (MEC). The course was approved by Capes in 2012 and began academic activities in 2013 with the enrollment of the first class.
For the Doctoral program, the proposal was submitted in January 2024, approved in September of the same year, with the first cohort starting in the first semester of 2025.
