About PPGCiamb
The overall objective of the Postgraduate Program in Environmental Sciences (PPGCiamb) is to train human resources, generate, and disseminate knowledge focused on environmental issues and their interfaces, from a socio-environmental perspective, encouraging dialogue between various fields of knowledge. It aims to create, develop, strengthen, and disseminate research, outreach, and teaching activities through an integrated and multidisciplinary approach in the field of Environmental Sciences, focusing on local and regional issues in the Legal Amazon.
The Program specifically proposes to:
I. Qualify professionals with different backgrounds, at the master's level, to work in teaching, research and/or outreach in areas related to Environmental Sciences, valuing dialogue between different fields of knowledge;
II. Encourage research that describes the environment (components and interrelationships), its uses and innovative alternatives, based on multi and interdisciplinarity;
III. Contribute to improving knowledge production in areas related to Environmental Sciences;
IV. Contribute to solving environmental issues, especially related to sociocultural aspects and the development and conservation of biodiversity, with a focus on the Legal Amazon;
V. Contribute to improving teaching at different levels through the qualification of teachers.
The program's efforts have focused on integrating students with different backgrounds and experiences into studies that address issues related to the environment and its interfaces, seeking solutions aimed at the conservation of natural heritage and development from a socio-environmental perspective.
