About PPGQ
The creation of the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Program - Academic Master's in Chemistry at UFT was directly related to the demands of graduates of the environmental chemistry course at the Gurupi Campus and other courses in related areas in the northern region of Brazil.
In 2015, a team of faculty members developed and presented a proposal to create a Master's Program in Chemistry. The project became viable in 2016, largely due to the determination of the program's faculty. The proposal for a Postgraduate Program in Chemistry was motivated primarily by the technological and environmental context of the country and the state, given the growing demand for qualified professionals in this sector, and the fact that new activities and technical applications are being defined every day.
This program focuses on Analytical/Environmental Chemistry and Organic Chemistry, which aims to offer postgraduate students professional training to work in teaching, research and development in Chemistry.
With courses traditionally offered in regular postgraduate programs in Chemistry, as well as courses with technological content, the program will enable graduates to contribute to consistent research aimed at technological development, the valorization of society, the exploitation of biodiversity, the control of pollution generated by the release of liquid and gaseous effluents and solid waste, and the characterization of water and mineral resources within the context of the Northern Region of Brazil.
