About PPGG
The Postgraduate Program in Geography at the Federal University of Tocantins (PPGG), an academic master’s degree program, in alignment with the mission and goals of the Institution’s Institutional Development Plan (PDI), aims to contribute to education committed to social justice, democratic values, and sustainable development, through the transmission, systematization, and production of knowledge, expanding and deepening critical and reflective human and professional training.
The mission of the PPGG is to train researchers and professors in Geography with social, economic, and environmental responsibility. It seeks to produce high-quality research in its lines of study that can present proposals and critiques to the prevailing model of economic growth, which undermines the lives of various population segments in the regional and national context. In this regard, the PPGG’s mission is to contribute to human, regional, and educational development and to be attentive to environmental changes.
The PPGG’s area of concentration is "Geoterritorial and Geoenvironmental Dynamics", with three lines of research: Geoenvironmental Analysis and Management, Geoterritorial Studies, and Geography Teaching.
