Area of Concentration

Communication, Media and Society:

The area addresses three guiding principles: the region's specificities and demands on communications professionals and other professionals working with the topics addressed; the profile of the faculty involved, with an emphasis on interdisciplinarity and multidisciplinarity; and UFT's institutional guidelines. The area encompasses the centrality of communication in social relations, local cultural dynamics, and the centrality of technological changes in information production processes and subjectivity. It also addresses communication processes and their articulated integration between local and global cultures, in which communication technologies can be seen as triggers for social and linguistic changes.
