About PPGArtes

The Postgraduate Program in Arts (PPGArtes) was created through the Professional Master's in Arts program to meet the demand for technical development and continuing education among graduates of undergraduate arts programs in the state of Tocantins, as well as teachers and research artists already working in the North region of the country, especially local artists from various artistic disciplines who work in elementary and technical schools, cultural centers, and arts centers. The program aims to investigate and address the challenges of the profession and the territories of knowledge in the arts, strengthening theoretical and practical links for the construction of knowledge in the field of teaching and artistic practice.

Graduates of the Professional Master's Program must:

• Act as proponents of relationships between teaching and research of interdisciplinary artistic knowledge at different levels of artistic practice, formal and informal education;
• Articulate and value aesthetic and poetic principles in the professional practice of teaching and artistic practice, promoting the investigation of artistic-social methods, strategies, and technologies;
• Create methodological solutions in the arts, articulated with inclusive education in teaching and learning mediations in Basic Education and other contexts;
• Stimulate production and creation in the arts and their dissemination as a manifestation of artistic potential, aiming to enhance the aesthetic sensitivity of diverse social audiences;
• Be capable of not only transposing knowledge produced in academic settings into their field of educational and artistic practice, but also of constructing new knowledge and fostering innovation;
• Be capable of promoting and carrying out actions such as the development and execution of arts projects and festivals;
• Be able to work in interdisciplinary and plural contexts, with multiple artistic, pedagogical, management and cultural production approaches, in cultural spaces and in schools at the K-12 level.
