Training of teachers who teach mathematics:
This research line investigates and systematizes situations related to the different aspects and dimensions of teacher training and professional development, focusing on the initial and continuing education processes of mathematics teachers at all levels of education, in formal and informal settings, and developed in various training contexts. Research in this line is linked to the following Research Projects (macroprojects) of the Program:
- Initial and continuing education for teachers who teach mathematics;
- Mathematics Education Laboratory as an agent for training and transformation of teachers who teach mathematics;
- History of Mathematics Education in the training of teachers who teach mathematics.
Mathematics teaching and learning processes:
This line of research problematizes situations related to mathematics teaching and learning processes, which are prominent at the K-12 level, in higher education, and other sociocultural contexts, with the aim of explaining the phenomenon under investigation theoretically, epistemologically, socioculturally, historically, pedagogically, didactically, and methodologically. Research in this line is linked to the following Research Projects (macroprojects) of the Program:
- Ethnomathematics and Sociocultural Contexts;
- Mathematical Modeling and Information and Communication Technologies for teaching and learning mathematics;
- Didactics of Mathematics in the classroom.
