Area of Concentration

The PPGEMaT program focuses on Mathematics Education. Mathematics Education promotes studies and research focused on the teaching and learning processes of mathematics—understood as a human, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary construct—and teacher training. It also addresses the production, systematization, and dissemination of mathematical knowledge in historical, social, and cultural contexts through philosophical, anthropological, social, psychological, and educational perspectives.

Both the practice of teachers who teach mathematics at different levels and modalities of education, as well as the recognition and appreciation of the cultural diversity of educational spaces that constitute the Brazilian Legal Amazon are taken into account, especially in the State of Tocantins.
