Oceania
The continent of Oceania, the smallest and one of the least populated on the planet, is a geographically isolated and culturally diverse region. Stretching from Australia to Polynesia, and from Micronesia to the South Pacific, Oceania encompasses a variety of ecosystems, including arid deserts, tropical rainforests, towering mountains and an extensive coastline. With a history dating back to prehistoric times, the continent has witnessed the rise and fall of indigenous cultures, the arrival of european explorers and the formation of modern nations.
Diverse cultures and languages coexist in Oceania, reflecting a rich tapestry of traditions, religions and schools of thought. The continent is also a major economic hub, home to some of the world’s most stable economies and playing a key role in global relations. Despite this, Oceania faces challenges such as socioeconomic disparities, environmental issues, regional conflicts and the need to reconcile traditions with ever-evolving modernity.
The Federal University of Tocantins (UFT) has partnerships with several institutions spread across the continent of Oceania, thus ensuring the university's internationalization.
