Africa
The African Continent, located primarily between the northern and southern hemispheres, is marked by a rich geographic, ethnic, cultural and historical diversity. Comprising vast plains, towering mountains, extensive savannas, dense tropical forests and arid deserts, the continent is home to a wide range of ecosystems and landscapes. Furthermore, its history is profoundly influenced by a multiplicity of ancient civilizations, medieval empires, transcontinental trade and, later, by the impact of european colonization and the subsequent quest for independence.
Although rich in natural resources and economic potential, Africa faces challenges such as political instability, poverty, disease and environmental issues. However, the continent has also witnessed significant advances in diverse areas such as economic development, education and women’s empowerment, and plays a crucial role in shaping global relations and the quest for a fair and equitable future.
The Federal University of Tocantins (UFT) has partnerships with several universities spread across the African Continent, thus ensuring the university's internationalization.
