Admissions
The Professional Master’s in Health Sciences at the Federal University of Tocantins (PPGCS/UFT) conducts annual selection processes for admission to the Master’s program, with calls for applications generally published in November. The program offers 24 open competition spots and nine specific spots for full-time faculty members of the State University of Tocantins (Unitins) and/or permanent staff of the Tocantins State Health Department linked to the Tocantins School of SUS Dr. Gismar Gomes (ETSUS-TO). The spots are distributed by professor and cover the following research lines: “Health Care at Different Levels: Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary” and “Health: Science, Education, and Technology.”
The selection process consists of three stages: project analysis (eliminatory), research project defense and interview (eliminatory), and curriculum evaluation (classificatory). Although no specific format is required, the project should include a cover page, introduction, objectives, justification, materials and methods, expected results, and references.
Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in English within 18 months after enrollment. Certificates from various institutions are accepted, including UFT’s Language Center, TOEFL, IELTS, DET, and TEAP, all with specified minimum scores.
PPGCS offers admission as a “special student,” with calls for applications published in March for the first semester and in August for the second semester.
