Admissions
The Postgraduate Program in Social Work at the Federal University of Tocantins (PPGSSocial/UFT) opens admissions annually for the master's program. Public notices are usually published in October or November, with twelve vacancies distributed as follows: three for quota candidates (Black, Quilombola, and Indigenous), one for the UFT Quali+ Administrative Technician Program, and eight for open competition. Vacancies are distributed by research line: a) Social Work and Social Policies; b) Social Work, Diversity, and Human Rights.
The selection process for regular students consists of three stages: research project analysis (eliminatory), interview and letter of intent analysis (eliminatory), and curriculum vitae (CV) analysis (qualifying). A preliminary research project is required, with guidelines available in the public notice. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in a foreign language (English, Spanish, or French) by the time their research project is qualified.
The PPGSSocial program offers admission as a "special student", with a simplified selection process based on an application form, personal documents, and academic transcripts. There are two modalities: graduates in Social Work and related areas, and students enrolled in stricto sensu Postgraduate courses at other institutions recognized by Capes.
Other Opportunities
The program awards research grants to fund academic activities, in accordance with the rules and requirements of the funding institutions, observing criteria such as quotas for Black candidates and the requirements of the Capes Ordinance.
The program's classes are taught face-to-face, and can take place from Monday to Wednesday, at the UFT Miracema Campus, at the Warã Unit.
