    Admissions

    Versão em português

    The Postgraduate Program in Plant Production at the Federal University of Tocantins (PPG-PV/UFT) opens admissions each semester, for regular students, to the master's and doctoral programs. Public notices are generally published in December/January and June/July, with five to seven vacancies for master's programs and five to eight vacancies for doctoral programs, distributed among the following research lines: Plant Health, Plant Science, Genetic Improvement, and Soil and Water Management.

    The selection process for regular students involves three stages: project presentation with a work plan (eliminatory, weighted 5.0), curriculum vitae (CV) evaluation (qualifying, weighted 3.0), and interpretation of a text written in English (qualifying, weighted 2.0). A preliminary research project must be submitted for selection, focusing on topics related to crop production. English proficiency is also required.

    The PPG-PV also offers the possibility of admission as a "special student", with public notices published in February and August.

    Other Opportunities

    The program carries out selection processes for postdoctoral studies, scholarships, tutors and teacher accreditation, following the guidelines of Capes programs.

    Within its four lines of research (Plant Health, Plant Science, Genetic Improvement and Soil and Water Management), the program allows specialized training within the areas of priority technologies defined by MCTIC through Ordinances No. 1,122, of March 19, 2020 and No. 1,329 of March 27, 2020, among which the following stand out:

    1. Production Technologies: in the research areas of Genetic Improvement, Plant Health (entomology, phytopathology, and weeds), and Plant Science;
    2. Technologies for Sustainable Development: horticulture, crops of regional interest, and family farming technology, within the lines of Plant Science, Plant Health, and Genetic Improvement;
    3. Technologies for Quality of Life: soil and water pollution management, within the Soil and Water Management research line; and
    4. Enabling Technologies: Biotechnology, with research in the lines of Plant Health and Genetic Improvement.

    The Program is aimed at training Agricultural Engineers, Forestry Engineers, Biotechnology Engineers, Biologists and other professionals in related fields.
