The PPGBiotec lasts for 2 years (24 months), counted from the date of admission. Regular teaching is organized in the form of courses, delivered through lectures, seminars, guided studies, practical classes, or other didactic methods.
The courses are classified into two levels (mandatory and elective), according to the content and focus of their respective syllabi. These are offered during the program depending on the availability of the responsible faculty members.

Non-creditable Activities
Dissertation and Thesis Preparation: These courses do not need to be included in the Study Plan. Enrollment must be made when the student has already completed all credits and is in the process of research and preparation of the final report (dissertation or thesis), in order to maintain enrollment in the Program.
Study Plan
In the selection process, the student will indicate the Research Line in which they will develop their studies. After joining PPGBiotec/UFT/Gurupi, together with their advisor, the student will prepare the Study Plan, which should guide their academic trajectory until the completion of the program. The requirement to comply with the Study Plan does not prevent the student and/or advisor from requesting changes through the inclusion or exclusion of a course or activity.
Master’s Project Qualification
At PPGBiotec/UFT/Gurupi, the qualification will be carried out by a committee composed of at least two PhD professors, whether affiliated or not with the program, and two alternates, including the advisor. At least one member of the committee must be external to UFT, as stated in the PPGBiotec Regulations (2024).
