Admissions
The Postgraduate Program in Mathematics Education at the Federal University of Tocantins (PPGEMaT/UFT) opens admissions annually for the academic master's program. Public notices are generally published in April. Twenty vacancies are offered annually, 12 of which are open to the general public and 8 are reserved for affirmative action candidates, in accordance with the UFT's Affirmative Action Policies.
The distribution of vacancies is balanced between the program's two research lines, with 10 vacancies each.
The selection of regular students consists of five stages:
Registration approval, with required documentation (preliminary);
Face-to-face written exam, held in the cities of Arraias, Araguaína, and Palmas (preliminary);
Research Project Analysis (preliminary);
Interview and project discussion, conducted remotely (preliminary);
Curriculum Vitae (CV) Analysis on the Lattes platform (qualifying).
The program's target audience includes candidates holding a higher education diploma recognized by the Ministry of Education (MEC), such as a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, a Bachelor's Degree in Pedagogy, or other degrees with a specialization in Mathematics, as well as degrees that qualify for teaching Mathematics in the initial years of Elementary Education.
The presentation of a Research Project is mandatory at the time of registration, according to the guidelines set out in the public notice.
Proof of proficiency in a foreign language is required for the dissertation defense, which may be presented in English, Spanish or French.
The program admits students as special students, as established in the rules of the Federal University of Tocantins.
