The Americas
The American Continent, located in the Western Hemisphere, covers a vast territorial area that stretches from the Arctic to the Antarctic, comprising an impressive geographic, climatic, ethnic and cultural diversity. Subdivided into three main regions - North America, Central America and South America. The continent presents a variety of ecosystems, including mountain ranges, fertile plains, arid deserts, tropical jungles and vast river basins. It is inhabited by ancestral indigenous populations, as well as by a mosaic of ethnic and cultural groups, the result of migrations, colonizations and exchanges over centuries.
The history of the continent is marked by complex interactions between pre-columbian civilizations, european colonization, the formation of independent nations, and global influence in various spheres, such as economics, politics, and culture. The American Continent continues to play a crucial role in global dynamics, hosting economic powers, varying geopolitical scenarios, and a wealth of natural resources, while also facing socioeconomic, environmental, and cultural challenges inherent to its vastness and diversity.
The Federal University of Tocantins (UFT) has partnerships with several universities spread across the American Continent, thus ensuring the university's internationalization.
